Glove Size Chart

Gloves use one simple measurement — your hand circumference. Measure it once and you have your size.

The rule

Numeric glove size = hand circumference in inches, measured around the knuckles (without the thumb). An 8.5-inch hand = a size 8.5 glove.

How to measure

  1. Wrap a soft tape around the fullest part of your palm — across the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
  2. Make a loose fist; keep the tape snug but not tight.
  3. Read the circumference in inches (and cm). Measure your dominant hand.

FAQ

How do I measure my hand for gloves?

Wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of your palm — across the knuckles, not including the thumb. Measure your dominant hand. The circumference in inches is your numeric glove size.

What is my glove size?

Your glove size equals your palm circumference in inches. An 8.5-inch hand is a size 8.5 glove (about Medium, 21.6 cm).

How do glove sizes convert to S–M–L?

Roughly: 7–7.5 in = XS–S, 8–8.5 = S–M, 9 = L, 9.5–10 = XL, 10.5–11 = XXL. See the chart for the exact mapping.

Should gloves fit tight or loose?

Snug but not restrictive — gloves stretch slightly with wear. For warmth, a hair looser allows an air layer; for work or cycling, choose a closer fit for dexterity.

Glove sizing convention: palm circumference in inches. General reference; check the brand's guide for specialty gloves.
